Drawing on last year’s overwhelming success, this annual event promises to be just as exciting and informative for grandparents and other relatives raising children.
The conference will be on Friday, Sept. 21 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the American Bank Center (Watergarden Room A & B) in Corpus Christi. The objective of the conference is to provide grandparents and other relatives with resources and information to ease the responsibility of rearing children. The cost of the conference is free for participants.
Last year’s conference provided over 300 participants with information on legal issues, school resources, social services and healthy lifestyles. Many local agencies provided exhibition booths with printed materials. There were also roundtable discussions to allow participants the opportunity to ask questions. The Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children Steering Committee is committed to providing a top quality conference by building on suggested improvements based on last year’s evaluations.
